3 Ways to Use Your Bay Window
Bay windows are a lovely way to add light and space to your home. They look amazing from the exterior, as well as enhance the interior of a house. If you’re not sure exactly what to do with the bay window, aside from filling it up with plants, we have a few ideas for you.
1. Create a Cosy Seating Area
Setting up a seat in the bay window allows you to enjoy the outdoors without actually being outside. If you’re putting in a window seat, you can add storage space by making it possible to lift the lid of the seat. Extra blankets, cushions, and winter clothing can easily be kept in the space.
On top of the seat, be sure to set up a thick cushion and plenty of pillows to make the space comfortable. There’s no reason not to include some books or a blanket to wrap up in, as well.
2. Make a Work Space
Another good way to use the bay window is to add a desk. Depending on how deep the window is, you may use a flat board to fit the window as your desk, or you may create a bespoke desk that cuts to the angles of the window. Either way, you just need to add a comfortable chair and you can work on everything from hobbies to essays in a well-lit, highly productive space.
3. Set Up a Breakfast Nook
Is the bay window near the kitchen? Why not add a small table and a couple of chairs to create a nice place to sit while you have your morning coffee? The bay window will allow you to take in the sights outside and you can enjoy bright morning light to get you off to a great start in the day.
Some people prefer to set the space up similar to a desk and add stools to provide a direct view outdoors. This breakfast bar idea can also be a fun way to enjoy your meals.
